Oh frabjous day!
At long last, Texas bakers will be able to legally sell goods that were produced from their home kitchen starting on September 1, 2011. This is exciting news for many home bakers in my state. Quoted from the law's website, this new law " expands our personal freedom, increases consumer choice, and will better the lives of thousands of Texans." I wholeheartedly agree.
Rallying the troops and getting the bill to pass has been a 4 year venture. My regret is, I had no idea this was going on until just recently. Admittedly, I am not the political type, but I wish I could have had the chance to support this in full and help. So many people had a hand in making this happen, and I just want to thank them right here for all of the work, time and perseverance. Thanks also to Governor Rick Perry for giving the home bakers a chance.
